Hi, welcome to my work web page just a small site to let people know a bit about me.

 

I joined the Film and Media Department of the University of Stirling on the 1st of June 2004 as a Technician for the Journalism Course.

 

Personal Profile

 

A highly motivated MCP qualified computer technician with a sound IT knowledge ranging from software development through to hardware configuration and installation. Excellent problem solving skills. Presently working as an IT Technician in Film and Media Department of Stirling University. A good team Player, who works well under pressure. Excellent time management, oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills developed throughout university and work environments.

 

My main responsibility is the day to day running of the news room within the Film and Media Department of the University of Stirling . I give students help with software problems within the newsroom, I also give them help with using the various software applications within the room. I also demonstrate how to use the equipment that will be used in the newsroom environment and throughout their course.

 

I maintain the department's computer resources and give advice to the software usage within the department and helping with the installing and rebuilding of the departments PCs/MACs. I am the first line support for any Computer/MAC related problems within the department. I also give staff help with the installation of software and the upgrading PCs or Macs. I am  one of the departmental Web Site Administrators and help staff with WebCt problems as they arise. I help with the daily issuing of equipment that is needed by the students on various departmental courses.

 

I work with two other technician helping out with various problems in the Film and Media department as and when they arise.
