Welcome to JM Ferreira-Cayuela's
Spanish as a Second Language

This page is still under construction but some links are now available. Just have a look.
The idea of this web is just to provide with lots of links for Teaching and Studying Spanish as a Second Language. Thus, there will be some relevant links for students and some others for teachers. From here, it will be posible to access to a huge amount of materials, from grammatical rules to fill-the-gaps exercises, from conjugators to WebQuest, from graduated readings to cultural resources, etc...
As one of my main interest for research is precisely to teach languages through Internet -Computer Assisted Language Learning (both for Spanish and English)- so, there will also be some references and links to this particular field within Applied Linguistics and Second Language Teaching Methodology.
You can check my webpages for my students at Stirling University (including Lab materials & WebQuests/Treasure Hunts)..
Or you can visit my Spanish Language links.
For my students:
-
WebQuests / Treasure Hunts / Scavenger Hunts: Highly interesting activities for Spanish as a Second Language. They are ideal tasks to motivate students (the topics are relevant to them) and, at the same time, they improve their Spanish, their ability to read, their vocabulary, their comprehesion skills, and their knowledge of hispanic culture through authentic text.
- E-pals: You will have a virtual friend from a Spanish University. You will improve your Spanish language and, at the same time, you will learn more about the culture, way of living, society, etc. You will meet people, make friends, improve both you writing and communicative skills and, moreover, you will have fun in Spanish!
